Founding and Vision
Our operations began with a clear purpose: to promote, educate, and ensure safety in underground mining processes. In an industrial context with a high incidence of geomechanical events, we are driving a paradigm shift to demonstrate that structural prevention is possible.

Through the precise identification of failure modes, the appropriate selection of instrumentation, and advanced data analysis, we consolidated our technical expertise, rapidly expanding our capabilities from underground mining to open-pit operations, waste dumps, tailings dams, and highly complex civil works.

Following the station's collapse, we actively participated in the comprehensive design of the new geotechnical monitoring during its rehabilitation and commissioning phase.

This work resulted in a pioneering solution that established the first post-failure stability criteria for excavations. Currently, this methodological innovation is a global standard applied in both mining and the recovery of any civil engineering project that has faced a critical structural event.
San José Mine Rescue
Following the national emergency caused by the collapse at the San José Mine, we were called upon as experts to ensure the stability of the environment.

Our mission was to ensure geomechanical safety throughout all phases of the complex search and rescue operations for the 33 trapped miners.
Fundão Tailings Dam Collapse (Samarco)
Following the contingency at this large tailings dam in Brazil, companies like BHP and Vale requested our immediate technical support to assess the overall safety of the affected area.

The intervention focused on identifying, measuring, and assessing the geotechnical stability behavior of the primary retaining walls adjacent to the tailings dam, mitigating additional operational risks.
Consolidation in Civil Works and Global Expansion
Currently, our experience extends beyond the mining industry to provide comprehensive technical value in the development of major infrastructure projects.

Our expertise is backed by involvement in highly demanding urban projects, such as the construction of Metro lines (using NATM and TBM methods), the AVO 1 and AVO 2 road concessions, and the execution of the El Melón 2 Tunnel.

With established operations in Chile, Peru, Brazil, and Spain, we project ourselves globally as absolute leaders in geotechnical and structural control for mining, civil works, and specialized engineering projects.

The story of Geosinergia begins with Igor Bravo Benítez, a civil mining engineer from the University of Santiago, Chile. In his daily work, Igor identified a recurring problem in the industry: the lack of precise instrumentation and reliable data to assess ground behavior, anticipate failures, and ensure safety in mining and infrastructure projects.

Faced with this limitation, he decided to develop his own solution, directly addressing the need for real, timely, and verifiable geotechnical information. This step marked the beginning of an approach that combined applied engineering, specialized monitoring, and technology.

From that initial solution, the initiative began to take shape and expand, leading to the creation of Geosinergia Ingeniería y Medio Ambiente Ltda. Over time, the work solidified into a multidisciplinary team, broadening capabilities and accumulating experience in geotechnical, hydrogeological, and structural monitoring.

Today, after years of evolution, Geosinergia operates in Chile, Peru, and Brazil, and has participated in projects in over 25 countries, maintaining the same purpose that started it all: solving critical problems through reliable data, precise engineering, and continuous innovation.
